FAQ
What exactly is Bujinkan Dojo?
Simply said it is japaneese martial arts school, which unites nine traditional
martial arts schools of ninjutsu and bujutsu. Bujinkan Dojo is lead by Mr.
Masaaki Hatsumi, who is grandmaster of these schools. More in „Bujinkan“
link.
The schools taught in Bujinkan are very old. Can they have any actual
mission(function) nowadays?
Yes, they are really one of the oldest martial arts schools, which persevered
until now. Even so, their teaching is not as antiquated, as would someone
imagine – on the contrary. It is not like these schools came into being
before several centuries and in the same time ceased their progress. These
schools further developed and addapted to the new ages and situations. This
natural progress still continues and is important.
Does it mean, that techniques taught in this school are real?
Yes, of course. Techniques, which are transfered to us by Hatsumi sensei are
very functional and practical. How well will student be able to use them in real
situation depends on his approach to study, understanding of important matters
and on luck.
Do you train with some weapons as well?
Yes, of course. There is a wide range of them, but the most important aspect is
taijutsu (techniques of the body). Then, the movement of the body is used in
work with weapons.
Many people think, that martial arts educate towards violence…
The real mission of martial arts is not fight, but peace. People that think
otherwise did not understand anything from the real essence of martial arts.
Training educates us not just in the matter of martial techniques, but one grows
spiritualy as well.
If any new students with bad intentions come – and that can easily
happen – after some time, they leave. The atmosphere, which is present on
trainings will not allow them to develop their bad thoughts, ego.
I am a girl, is this training good for me, can I learn it as well? Or is it
just for male half of the population?
It is not at all just a concern of male population and luckily it never was.
There are many girls and women among us, who were fascinated by this art.
Where and when should I start to study Bujinkan?
Whenever and wherever. All you need is to come to one of Dojos, where this art
is taught. The important thing is to have interest in studying this art and that
is all. Everything else will come with time.
